Life #1

Hey there readers,

It's been a year already, a year and two days since my last post to be exact. You may think that I have forgotten all about blogging, and the sad truth is that I have. Up until now, of course.

As I sit here, listening to classic rock and sipping soy milk (i'm vegan now, surprise surprise!) I contemplate what to write. How my life has been? New experiences? etc etc. I shall start with how my life has been then. I'm not much of a blogger but it is always nice to express my frustrations and experiences through writing. And hopefully it is interesting to you guys out there who take the time to read through this post.

I have taken a newfound interest to listening to rock music. I never thought I would like it because I had always thought it sounded too angry to me. But I now have come to realise it is all soul; through the lyrics, the impressive guitar solos and the excessive drum playing. You could learn so much just from a few lines of the lyrics. Every time I listen to AC/DC, Deep Purple or Led Zeppelin I feel like I have just been granted access to the deepest feelings and emotions of the writers and the lead singers. It may seem trivial to many; "But dude it's just music. It's all about the rockin' beat, man." I used to think like that. However, i'm wrong. When it come's to rock, the feelings expressed through the beat and the lyrics are the most important. Rock music always makes me feel like i'm someone i'm not; an extremely cool person who has been through so much, who has run wild, who has experienced so many new and amazing things. It basically makes me want to run away from my mundane life and just become a hippie! Running around with a bunch of friends, going to exotic places, living in the moment with the adrenaline and thrill.

FREEDOM. It just makes me confident of myself, if you get what I mean.

But that's just a dream. Dreams may just be wishes that are yet to be fulfilled. However, I feel like this is one wish I have that will never be fulfilled. Life is just like that, I guess.

Anyways, I have my exams tomorrow. I personally don't feel anything which is strange considering the average person feels anxiety, distress and a lack of self esteem before the exams. However, I don't really feel anything in regards to the exams. Maybe this is sign that i've given up, hahaha. Wish me luck everyone :)

There hasn't been much going on with me nowadays. But I have decided to split up my experiences into many posts so as to spare you the agony of reading a long-ass article, one shot. I hope you found this post interesting, hahaha. See ya at the next one!

My day #1

Hey guys

You could be wondering what this is about, especially after I wrote my first article.
I will be posting a little bit about the things that go on throughout my day and the new things I learnt in the middle of my other type of posts.

Alright, let's start, hahaha.

So today, as most usual days, I was almost late to school. I always wake up on time but sometimes I just give myself some leeway for things I do in the morning saying, "Ehh just 10 more minutes," and BAM! I have to rush to get the bus and I make it just 10 minutes before I have to assemble with the others.

My examinations are coming up in a few days and I can't afford to slack right now (you must be wondering why i'm blogging then) but everyone needs a break right? So while i'm just sitting at my desk typing away furiously, my mother thinks i'm finishing up an assignment. Whoops.

So I just found out that we can actually play JUST DANCE using our phones by connecting to the website. Maybe all you guys already know that? Hehe, I'm kinda detached from technology sometimes. That's the best thing i've found out in a while. Yeah, so my classmates and I pretty much used our spare time at school today to play that in our classroom *it was however quite the workout*
Great Job Ubisoft! (as always)

All days have their ups and downs. The stuff above were my ups and i'm gonna mention the down. It's the downer of all downers existing; a form stating the dates of practice needed for my extracurricular activity- A performance. DURING THE HOLIDAYS. CAN YOU BELIEVE THEIR NERVES. Basically, I got really mad because,

1. I hate my CCA **
2. I don't like anyone ruining my holidays
3. Repeat numbers 1 and 2 a hundred times

One does not simply force me into this kind of ' child labour' without getting in a fight.

But then I realised I wasn't going to be in Singapore on the performance day as I would have left 2 days before then. I think you can imagine the smile on my face.  The hard part is going to be explaining this to the teacher in charge.

Downer --> Upper

Also, just wanted you guys to know that I might be setting up another blog where I will post some short stories I have written. If i get enough Page Views that is!

HAVE A NICE DAY :)

Radical thoughts and it's necessity -Random thought #1

In our boring, dull life today, not many things surprise us and make us wonder like they used to.

"Did you know Starfish have no brain?!" or "Have you ever wondered about ..." Says a friend of yours. "Oh. Cool." or "Yeah, sure." Is usually your answer while you stare vigorously at your computer or phone screen.

Is it really though? Is it really cool? There are so many things in this world that could actually amaze us and make us think, but why doesn't it sometimes?

"I'm having a bad day. I doubt anything could shock me after what just happened." You say wearily as an excited friend of yours is on the verge of telling you something he or she just read about. You regard the fact as lame, useless or even pointless to you as you settle down to finish a project that is due soon.

But I bet you can never deny that on some days, you just sit down, relaxing, drinking a cup of coffee pondering over something that you heard or read. Maybe even a random thought that comes to your head at that point in time.

Our brain is so clogged with information, thoughts, ideas, feelings and emotions that it has to process during our busy day to day lives that nothing but work seems to matter anymore. We seem to be possessed with the idea that work is life and that sitting down idly admiring something that we would not have noticed usually, is impractical and fruitless.

We seem to be missing the point that it is in fact absolutely necessary! What would our world be today if our fore fathers never wondered about or strived to find the answer for, say, "How did that apple just hit my head?!" and "I wonder how it would be to soar through the sky like a bird..." and even, "I need a solution for this stupid problem."? You could argue that they all had incentives that made them contemplate but you don't always need that to spur you to think! They did not just work and work, day and night until they died! They used their time to think, as if expecting a radical thought to just revolutionise their life and the lives of others.

My point is that we should always set aside some time to sit down, relax and appreciate the little things around you. Just let your mind wander for that 10 minutes as you stare into the nature filled surroundings;  "How could I work hard and yet work efficiently?", "Why are those ships lined up so perfectly in the distance?" or even something small like, "Why is coffee so brown?" and as your mind lets go of all its thoughts and becomes unclogged, the answers to these problems which arise from the depths of your mind will eventually follow.
