Radical thoughts and it's necessity -Random thought #1

In our boring, dull life today, not many things surprise us and make us wonder like they used to.

"Did you know Starfish have no brain?!" or "Have you ever wondered about ..." Says a friend of yours. "Oh. Cool." or "Yeah, sure." Is usually your answer while you stare vigorously at your computer or phone screen.

Is it really though? Is it really cool? There are so many things in this world that could actually amaze us and make us think, but why doesn't it sometimes?

"I'm having a bad day. I doubt anything could shock me after what just happened." You say wearily as an excited friend of yours is on the verge of telling you something he or she just read about. You regard the fact as lame, useless or even pointless to you as you settle down to finish a project that is due soon.

But I bet you can never deny that on some days, you just sit down, relaxing, drinking a cup of coffee pondering over something that you heard or read. Maybe even a random thought that comes to your head at that point in time.

Our brain is so clogged with information, thoughts, ideas, feelings and emotions that it has to process during our busy day to day lives that nothing but work seems to matter anymore. We seem to be possessed with the idea that work is life and that sitting down idly admiring something that we would not have noticed usually, is impractical and fruitless.

We seem to be missing the point that it is in fact absolutely necessary! What would our world be today if our fore fathers never wondered about or strived to find the answer for, say, "How did that apple just hit my head?!" and "I wonder how it would be to soar through the sky like a bird..." and even, "I need a solution for this stupid problem."? You could argue that they all had incentives that made them contemplate but you don't always need that to spur you to think! They did not just work and work, day and night until they died! They used their time to think, as if expecting a radical thought to just revolutionise their life and the lives of others.

My point is that we should always set aside some time to sit down, relax and appreciate the little things around you. Just let your mind wander for that 10 minutes as you stare into the nature filled surroundings;  "How could I work hard and yet work efficiently?", "Why are those ships lined up so perfectly in the distance?" or even something small like, "Why is coffee so brown?" and as your mind lets go of all its thoughts and becomes unclogged, the answers to these problems which arise from the depths of your mind will eventually follow.
